What drew me to Emergency Medicine: I was drawn to Emergency Medicine for the variety. ![]() Netter, MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University Undergrad School: University of New Hampshire What do I like to do in my free time: Walks, taking photos of nature, PUPPIES, SCUBA diving, gardening, writing, wood working. It's a place where I can make an impact in many lives helping to both heal and educate. Emergency medicine keeps me interested because one minute I can be working a cardiac arrest and the next doing a pelvic exam. What drew me to Emergency Medicine: I enjoyed most all of my rotations in med school and experiences as a paramedic, but found I couldn't see myself making a steady diet of just one topic for the rest of my career. What drew me to Emergency Medicine: The variety of patients that could walk in at any moment and be ready for anything on a moment's notice. The fun in caring for an older vehicle is there is always a learning curve, particularly during the troubleshooting and planning process. ![]() I am the proud owner of an older crossover that requires extra TLC. ![]() What do I like to do in my free time: I find great joy in working on my car, being outdoors, exercising and cooking. The diagnostic process and the gratification from providing solace and care in a cohesive team to a diversity of conditions, some potentially life threatening, is what drew me to Emergency Medicine. The faces of the Emergency Medicine team are who they associate those initial interactions with as well as the first to lay eyes, ears and hands on the patients in providing expertise, comfort, and answers. What drew me to Emergency Medicine: You are often the first team the patient sees in their hour of need. Medical School: Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine What do I like to do in my free time: I enjoy training in jiu jitsu, playing chess, and curling up to read a mystery or fantasy novel. What drew me to Emergency Medicine: I was drawn to emergency medicine because of the diversity of patient problems, the fast-paced environment, and the sense of camaraderie and teamwork between healthcare professionals in the emergency setting.
